Tests We Can Do for Springs

Tests are essential to springs. Through tests, we can know whether springs are good or not. In KokuyoSpring, we carry out below tests to ensure we always get proper springs.

1. Size/Dimension Tests.
These test will measure dimensions/sizes of your springs after we have done production and before packing. By doing these tests, we can ensure springs have correct sizes, numbers of coils and rotation directions as well.

Usually, we use digital calipers, height gauge, image dimension measurement system and projectors to do these tests.

2. Force Tests.(If force values are represented on drawings)
Springs usually have certain force requirements at certain lengths or positions. It is critical for springs to work properly as designer's intends. We use force testers and torque testers to measure these forces.

3. Materials' Strength/Hardness Tests.
We use these tests to inspect our raw material. Without proper material, we cannot good springs. For these tests, we use our wire tensile strength tester and Vickers hardness tester(for strip and sheet metals).

4. Spring Fatigue/Life Cycle Tests. (If required or asked)
This test is to determine how much time your spring will endure. Longer fatigue life requires good design and good manufacturing, so make sure your design can pass theoretical cycles.

5. Coating Thickness tests. (If required or asked)
Coating on springs are usually used to protect them from corrosion. Thicker coating will last longer and have better protection. We will determine protection layer is as per your drawing's requirement.

6. LCR Tests.(If required or asked)
This test is used to test springs' electrical characteristic. Tester can test sample's inductance(L), capacitance(C) and resistance(R), hence the name. It is useful if your springs are intended to use on electrical devices.

7. RoHS/REACH compliance Tests.
By default, our springs are RoHS/REACH compliant. We use our device to keep our product within these lines.
